Technology key to boutique hotel success, says CEO

Food and beverage is an important area where independent hotels can differentiate themselves – and technology is providing an invaluable key, visitors to a major conference will be told.

NFS Technology Group is exhibiting at the Independent Hotel Show at Olympia West, London, on 18 and 19 October, and CEO Luis De Souza says software is helping boutique hotels stand out from the rest.

“Hotel property management systems (PMS) are revolutionising operations for independent hotels and helping them provide the bespoke, personal service that guests expect,” he said.

“Many independent hotels rely on their food and beverage offer to differentiate them from larger competitors.

‘Many of our customers tell us they are keen to take advantage of the global move towards casual dining. This simpler, quicker dining experience is gaining hugely in popularity – it’s estimated that it will outgrow all other channels and achieve £5bn in revenue in the UK this year.“

At the show, NFS will be showcasing its market-leading roomMaster hotel PMS, used by more than 6,000 hotels worldwide, and its Aloha restaurant electronic point of sale system (EPoS).

“Both of these systems can transform the way a boutique hotel or group runs its operations, saving time and helping to create the great guest experience that promotes loyalty and return visits,” said Luis.

NFS is a UK-based international software company with customers worldwide. In the UK, they include Hand Picked Hotels, the Mogford Group, The Mercer Collection and Temple Gate Town House in Ennis, whose Managing Director Paul Madden says Aloha EPoS has made a huge difference to business.

“We expected to benefit greatly in terms of operational controls and to streamline the food and beverage operation – and we got it,” he said.

Luis and his team will be on stand 217 at the Independent Hotel Show, and they are anticipating a busy time.

“These are challenging times for independent hotels, and our software and 24/7 support can provide the competitive edge that makes all the difference,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to talking to a wide range of hotel owners and managers – come along and see what roomMaster and Aloha can do for you!”
