Nottingham Team Celebrates Second Anniversary with Record Year

Europa Road, a division of independent logistics operator Europa Worldwide Group, is celebrating the second anniversary of its Nottingham branch with a record year, enjoying an annual growth of nearly 40 per cent.

The Europa team, based at the Rushcliffe Technology and Enterprise Centre (RTEC) in West Bridgford, has seen a number of new business wins, expanding its impressive portfolio of clients from a range of specialist sectors. Its recent success means it has also created and recruited a new Customer Service role, expanding the team to 5 members - a move to help meet the needs of its clients from a diverse range of sectors including fashion, retail, automotive and hospitality.

Europa Worldwide Group is owned by Andrew Baxter, formerly a Director of Nottingham based RH Group. As part of the acquisition of Europa in August 2013, Andrew announced his plans for investment in the East Midlands to increase geographic spread and bridge the gap between the company’s sites in Northampton and Leeds.

Logistics is an important sector in the region and Nottingham’s strategic, central location has allowed Europa Road’s domestic operations go from strength to strength. The team has seen significant increases in bespoke business to business (B2B) and business to consumer (B2C) e-commerce, including the transportation of large or fragile items with special handling requirements.

As well as this success, Europa’s Nottingham branch has enjoyed growth with the expansion of its specialist services into the hospitality sector over the past 12 months, providing time-critical logistics solutions for a number of high profile hotel chains.

Sally Watson, Europa’s Nottingham Branch Manager, said: “Since our site launch in 2014, we have built up business in spite of some heavy competition in the sector. We’ve turned these challenges to our advantage and our hard work is paying off. Despite warnings over Brexit, we certainly haven’t seen any decline in volumes – in fact July was a record month for us.

“Clients’ needs are becoming increasingly specialised and our ability to offer bespoke solutions tailored to each individual business at short notice allows us to keep an advantage over other providers on the market. This is facilitated by our varied fleet – our smaller vans give us the ability to take last minute express bookings and Europa’s new IT system, LeoRoad, provides complete visibility and clear reporting, helping us to give clients answers quickly and efficiently.”

Andrew Baxter commented: “The Nottingham team’s performance has been exceptional. The team has an innate ability to understand our clients’ needs and deliver high quality and effective solutions to help their businesses succeed. This is why the Nottingham site has recorded such impressive results.

“The team has some very exciting new clients in the pipeline and we hope to take advantage of this new business by expanding our Nottingham team further to help increase our footprint across the East Midlands.”

Europa Worldwide Group employs 600 people across 11 sites in the UK plus Hong Kong and is represented in 100 countries.
