Fashion for good causes retailer Gandys opens first store in Spitalfields

UK clothing brand Gandys has launched its first store in London following a glitzy grand opening in Spitalfields on Wednesday.

The retailer was founded in 2004 by Rob and Paul Forkan after the two brothers lost their parents in the Asian Tsunami and is based around a trend-led approach to clothing to raise money for charitable causes.

Present at the fashion brand’s big launch were TV star Lydia Bright, 2016 X-Factor contestant Niall Sexton as well as model Stefan-Pierre, while Mayor of London Sadiq Khan continued his backing for Gandys and sent his well-wishes.

Khan said: “Gandys have had such an inspiring journey so far and it is nothing short of amazing what they have achieved. Their enterprise was born out of grief and it has yielded a legacy that will likely outlast them.

Rob and Paul should be so proud of this milestone in their journey. I know that they will reach many milestones in the months and years to come and that people, home and abroad, will benefit from their dedication, vision and hard work.“

The Forkan brothers have also hinted that more venues are set to follow the property at 105c Commercial Street, with Paul commenting that they are looking to open more stores across the South East, including a new outlet in Tunbridge Wells, in the coming months.
