Leeds United teams up with StreamAMG to enhance LUTV service

Leeds United has teamed up with StreamAMG to deliver the new and improved LUTV service for video on demand and live broadcasting.

The online video specialist, which already powers many of the UK’s leading football clubs, has signed a three deal with the Sky Bet Championship club.

The new partnership sees the delivery of highlights, interview features, archive content and live audio and video for Leeds’ global fan base, whilst allowing LUTV to be viewed in a multi-device compatibility, across desktop, mobile, tablet and beyond.

Using StreamAMG’s Media Platform solution, this new service allows Leeds United to engage with fans and sponsors, whilst also gaining the ability to interrogate user behaviour and make educated content decisions using Media Platform’s real time analytics reporting system.

As a result of the new partnership, The LUTV service now opens up new revenue channels for the club, offering more flexible payment options and subscription types, using both advertising and subscription funded models.

Matt McKiernan, director and general manager for Sports at StreamAMG, said “Leeds United are a club with rich heritage and a great history, it’s an honour to work together to deliver the new and improved LUTV service.

“Utilising Media Platform’s world class streaming infrastructure, Leeds United can finally bring Live and VOD content to their global fan base, across desktop, mobile, tablet and beyond.”

Paul Bell, executive director of Leeds United, commented “From the initial meeting with Matt from StreamAMG we knew we had found the right partner for LUTV.

“Their knowledge of streaming video content is world class and they were able to communicate to all members of my project team in an easy to understand and simple manner.

“They enabled important decisions to be made easily and in a straightforward manner, from servers to design layout and customer interface StreamAMG were superb.

“We are confident that should we be allowed to stream live content to our fans in the future, we have a great partner.”
