Revealed: The futuristic 'eco friendly' airplane coming to London City Airport next week
An Italian manufactured aircraft that claims to significantly reduce operating costs and cut down on aircraft noise pollution is set to land at London City Airport next week.
The Avanti EVO from boutique private aviation company ConnectJets is to be showcased at the London airport on 11 and 12 October as part of a series of demonstration flights and viewings.
The craft, which has been manufactured by Piaggio Aerospace in Villanova d’Albenga in Italy, includes rear-facing propellers which the firm claims improves climb performance and allows top speed of 463mph, making it the fastest twin turboprop aircraft ever produced.
Its aerodynamic lines and design also means that the plane can reach greater speeds more quickly thus reducing operating costs by up to 40% compared to other jets, bolstering its eco friendly credentials.
Gabriella Somerville, Managing Director of ConnectJets, commented: “I am delighted as sole sales agent for the Avanti EVO in the British Isles and Channel Islands to be demonstrating this luxurious aircraft at London City Airport.
“Never has the pressure on aviation to lead the way in reducing the impact of transport on the environment been so high and with this in mind the introduction of the EVO to the UK Aviation market could not be more timely.”
The aviation brand said the London City Airport’s stringent noise footprint regulations owing to its central location meant it was the ideal site to show off the aircraft, along with its 90-second arrival and departure arrangements.
