Sovini staff help Merseyside mums in need
Staff from Merseyside-based Sovini Group proved to be a big help to Knowsley mums in need recently.
Sovini staff donated £650 to The Big Help Project’s Baby Basics campaign, which supports vulnerable pregnant women and new mums in the region.
Baby Basics Knowsley, which is run by The Big Help Project, provides Moses Baskets to those referred to the service, stocked with essential items such as women’s hygiene products and toiletries.
The campaign supports women including teenage mums, asylum seekers and those fleeing domestic violence and trafficking.
Sovini staff donated items for the campaign as well as entering a raffle prize draw, with a chance to a family pass to Knowsley Safari Park.
Property Surveyor Lisa Rietdyk was the lucky winner.
Sovini Customer Empowerment Manager Ann Owens said: “We are delighted to be able to support The Big Help Project’s Baby Basics campaign. Philanthropy is at the heart of our organisation and our staff have been so enthusiastic about donating to such a worthwhile cause.”
Baby Basics Coordinator Heidi Ferns said: “This very generous donation will make a real difference to vulnerable new mums across Knowsley. The arrival of a new baby should be a happy time, but for mums fleeing domestic, living in poverty or raising a baby alone it can be overshadowed by stress and anxiety about providing all the things a new baby needs. A Moses Basket from Baby Basics gives practical support to new parents, and celebrates the new family, and we truly appreciate Sovini’s kindness in raising these funds for us.”
