The bar will launch in Summer 2017

VIP bar coming to Echo Arena Liverpool

Construction work has begun on a new VIP bar at Liverpool’s Echo Arena.

The entertainment venue is enhancing its visitor offer with the construction of a mezzanine floor and drinks area within the arena concourse.

The bar will cater for up to 150 guests before, during and after shows while offering views across the city’s historic waterfront.

With a name yet to be revealed, the project has been designed by 442 Design – the Edinburgh firm behind the VIP members’ areas at the SSE Hydro arena in Glasgow and the retail and cafe areas within West Ham’s new London ground.

The project is led by Litherland-based interior designer Michael Cousins, while building firm Engie has been appointed to manage construction.

Bob Prattey, the chief exec of The ACC Liverpool Group, which includes the Echo Arena, BT Convention Centre and Exhibition Centre Liverpool, said: “We know how much our visitors like to make a special night of it when they come to watch a concert, comedy or sporting event at Echo Arena Liverpool.

“The addition of a new indoor high-end bar will enable our guests to treat themselves and enjoy drinks and dining on event nights in luxury surroundings with magnificent views of the river.”

He continued: “While we will still provide refreshments as usual on our arena concourse, the new VIP bar will offer an exclusive range and will complement our existing premium offer Arena Club Class.”

The first phase of building work will include the construction of a steelwork frame within the arena concourse.

442 Design’s head of interior design, Michael Cousins, commented: “We are experienced in designing successful premium areas at other large scale venues and our aim at Echo Arena Liverpool is to create a memorable event for guests.

“We look forward to working with the arena team to make this the most talked about and must see VIP bar in the city.”

The bar will launch in Summer 2017.
