80 new jobs to be created as Barnsley’s first trampoline park bounces into action

80 jobs are set to be created as Yorkshire Bank helps launch Barnsley’s first trampoline park.

Jump Zone, which opened its doors this week, received funding from Yorkshire Bank to assist with the purchase and fit out of its premises.

The deal was delivered by Jonathan Fletcher, relationship manager and David Potts, private manager, who are both based at Yorkshire Bank’s South Yorkshire Customer Banking Centre.

The trampoline park was established by leisure sector entrepreneur Arthur Shufflebottom, who is owner and operator of East Leeds Snooker Club. The snooker facility also incorporates a soft play centre, Playzone and Toddlerz.

Jump Zone features around 70 trampolines, a giant air bag, a reaction wall which enables competitive play and an interactive traversing wall which visitors climb across while taking part in various challenges.

The business is currently recruiting up to 80 part and full-time staff including trampoline court marshalls, kitchen staff and servers and receptionists.

Arthur said: “As a longstanding private customer of Yorkshire Bank, its team are very familiar with my background and experience in the leisure industry.

“I’m delighted that they were able to provide some assistance and help Jump Zone get off the ground.”

Kevin Elliot, head of Yorkshire Bank’s South Yorkshire Customer Banking Centre, added: “We’re extremely pleased to be backing Jump Zone in Barnsley, which will be a great addition to the town’s leisure facilities and will provide local families with lots of fun.

“Arthur’s entrepreneurial spirit represents all that is good about the local business community and it rewarding to know that our contribution is supporting the creation of new jobs in the area.”
