£850k Bella Italia investment to create 35 jobs in Grey’s Quarter, Newcastle

Bella Italia is set to open a new restaurant in Newcastle city centre’s Grey’s Quarter, the new dining development in intu Eldon Square, following an £850k investment creating 35 new jobs.

The new location is Bella’s third in the area, with other sites already established at Metrocentre and Silverlink Retail Park.

The business will open with a brand new menu featuring ingredients sourced from genuine Italian-family run businesses, including fresh pasta from the second generation Gaetarelli family and charcuterie from the fifth generation Rota family.

Stacey Hetherington, Bella intu Eldon Square General Manager, said: “We’re delighted to be opening in the Grey’s Quarter!

“The buzzing new development will be the destination to all with so many new choices and those visiting Bella will be treated to our great new menu, featuring fresh pasta from the Gaetarelli family, a fabulous new restaurant, which will bring you the warmth of Mediterranean summer and a dedicated team that can’t wait to serve the visitors of intu Eldon Square.”

Stacey added: “It’s ideal for people of all ages, the place where you are guaranteed that moment of Dolce Vita.”

Grey’s Quarter, which opened this Autumn, will consist of at least 20 new restaurants when fully operational, with city chiefs hoping the new development will be the heartbeat of the city’s restaurant scene.

Speaking earlier this year, Senior Asset Manager at intu, Ben Cox said: “Grey’s Quarter represents a significant investment from intu and our partners and will be a fantastic addition to both intu Eldon Square and Newcastle City Centre.

“It will open early till late, so whether it’s a hearty breakfast, lunch with the family or a fun night out with friends, there will be options for all and a great variety of cuisine.”
