Acoustic installations firm Floorscan creates post-production hub for MediaCityUK’s dock10
Acoustic installations company Floorscan Acoustics has completed work on a new post-production hub for Salford-based digital media service provider dock10.
The project, known as The Quay, saw Cheshire firm Floorscan deliver a major conversion on Level 1 of the Studios at MediaCityUK to create 10 offline suites, two online suites, four VFX suites, a motion graphics area and an expanded grade facility with a built-in projector.
Floorscan served as the principal contractor on the scheme, which included the design, specification and build of the project.
Simon Donald, the managing director of Floorscan, said: “Being appointed by dock10, delivering these specialist suites at the heart of the campus at MediaCityUK has been an extremely enjoyable and honourable experience.
“We look forward to continuing showcasing our genuine passion for bespoke acoustics solutions like these across the country.”
Mark Hudson, MediaCityUK’s head of projects and procurement, commented: “The Floorscan Acoustics team completed this project to the highest standard, whilst remaining within budget and timescale restrictions and there’s nothing more we could have asked of them.”
Founded as a floor soundproofing business in Liverpool in 1994, today Floorscan is a £1m firm that supplies and installs acoustic products and systems for customers across a range of sectors, including construction, music, broadcasting, education and residential.
Simon Donald acquired the company in 2015 after five years as its manager.
