Liverpool’s LEAF expands with new Manchester tea house
The minds behind LEAF, the café-bar and arts space on Liverpool’s Bold Street, have launched a dining and events venue in Manchester.
Opening today (October 11) in the former RIBA CUBE gallery on Portland Street, the new LEAF will sell more than 60 varieties of loose-leaf tea from a menu that includes vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
In addition to its dining offer, the two-storey Grade II-listed space will feature a 300-capacity area for gigs, creative and corporate events
The managing director of the Portland Street tea house, Natalie Haywood, said the company has been seeking a “big versatile space” in Manchester for years.
She explained: “When the RIBA CUBE Gallery became available it seemed like the perfect venue.
“The location felt right, and it’s in a diverse neighbourhood, which fits our desire to create a welcoming venue for everyone to enjoy tea, music and good times.”
LEAF was founded in 2007 and today, in addition to its new Manchester venue, runs two sites in Liverpool.
