Hull specialist vehicle manufacturer secures first export order to Poland

A Hull-based vehicle mounted access platform manufacturer has won its first export order for Poland.

Aldercote has secured a £25k order for a demonstrator access platform mounted to a free issue Transit Van, via Arcon.pl, its newly appointed Polish dealer for Aldercote Access Platform Products.

Aldercote’s first foray in Poland follows on from success in other international market, including the provision of mining support vehicles to African nations.

following expert support and guidance from advisors at the Department for International Trade (DIT) Yorkshire and the Humber.

Founded in 2001 by directors and brothers David and Paul Dillon, Aldercote employs 15 staff in the manufacture of specialist vehicles with powered access platforms tailored to the requirements of customers in an increasingly wide range of sectors.

David said the firm’s export growth followed on from the Department for International Trade (formerly UK Trade & Investment) supporting its research of new markets.

This included attendance at a major trade exhibition called Energetab in Poland at which Aldercote displayed its demonstrator van with mounted access platform.

He said: “This order marks our debut in Poland as the market there for custom-made vehicles diversifies to include a growing demand for van-mounted access platforms and follows three years of discussions.

“The time is right for us to be in Poland thanks to a win-win combination of our quality products being offered to a growing market and trade advantages provided by a weak pound.

“We support the DIT’s Exporting is GREAT initiative to encourage and inspire more businesses to export by 2020 and couldn’t have achieved what we have abroad without the support and guidance of its specialist international trade advisors in Yorkshire and the Humber.”
