Tariq Drabu Discusses ISQ Diagnostics in 2016

Tariq Drabu is a Manchester born and educated dentist. He is also one of the youngest dentists to ever graduate in the United Kingdom at twenty one years of age. After graduation he worked in some of the busiest dental hospitals in the UK and Saudi Arabia before receiving his Fellowship in Dentistry at the College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Today he is the owner of the successful Langley Dental Practice and is also the Clinical Lead Dentist for the Oral Surgery Clinical Assessment and Treatment Services at NHS Heywood Middleton and Rochdale.

Tariq Drabu was speaking about an article recently published on a top dental news website. The full article, which was published on 29 September 2016, can be read here.

Tariq Drabu in Manchester said “The EAO Congress 2016 discussed how to address the three challenges of using ISQ (implant stability quotient) in dental practices. The development of digital technology, the number of high risk patients and achieving predictable outcomes were the main topics. This annual symposium is to teach dental professionals about ISQ.”

Tariq Drabu went on to say “Osstell, a Swedish dental manufacturer, has been manufacturing instruments to analyse dental implant stability for more than twenty five years. They held the symposium at the EAO Congress to reduce treatment times, assure more predictable outcomes and to help dentists manage high risk patients.”

Tariq Drabu closed in saying “Many implants are carried out worldwide and it can be a relatively straightforward treatment offered to patients who have lost one or more of their natural teeth. Implants have many benefits, they feel completely natural, they don’t hinder the patients speech as dentures do and they can eat normally. The implant is a titanium screw which is placed into the jaw bone and over time the bone fuses with the screw to hold it in place. The screw is finished with a false tooth, called a cap, which is made based on the patients mouth and teeth, matching their tooth colour to make it look completely natural. There are patients who are unable to have this treatment due to bone deterioration. Those with diabetes are also high risk patients.”
