Seedrs continues European expansion with launch of Berlin office

Crowdfunding platform Seedrs has announced it is adding to its presence on the European continent with the launch of a new office in the German capital.

Following on from the opening of its Amsterdam office in the summer, the London-headquartered business is to open a new branch in Berlin as it looks to capitalise on the city’s thriving startup scene.

Working across the Germany, Austria and Switzerland (DACH) markets, the office will be tasked with raising awareness of the early-stage investment ecosystem and developing a funnel of deals for the firm’s crowdfunding platform.

Commenting on the launch of the new office, Jeff Lynn, Chief Executive at Seedrs said that he was excited to be adding another European office to Seedrs’ repertoire and was complimentary about the region’s startup scene.

He added: “I have spent a substantial amount of time in the DACH region over the past few years, and I am constantly amazed by how vibrant the early-stage ecosystem is there, not just in Berlin, but across all three countries.

“I look forward to working with business and others in the region as we build up our presence there.”

The new office will be headed up by entrepreneur Kyrill Zlobenko, who assumes the role of Regional Manager, and will be joined by Seedrs stalwart Beatrice Werdin.

Zloblenko commented: “I am thrilled to be joining Seedrs, which has firmly established its place as the leading equity crowdfunding platform in Europe.

“Jeff and the UK team have always been impressed by the early-stage ecosystem throughout the DACH region, and it is my team’s job to spread the world and ensure that Seedrs becomes a key player in financing startup and growth companies across the three countries.”

The equity crowdfunding platform was awarded its EU-wide financial services passport in July, and has since embarked on a European expansion programme as it looks to expand its reach across the EU.
