17th-century Culgaith pub flies off the market
A pub in Cumbria that dates back to the 1600s has flown off the market from a six-figure asking price.
The Black Swan Inn, located in Culgaith, was sold by real estate advisory firm Colliers International on behalf of the business’ previous owner, Eden Valley Inn Limited.
Stephen and Jacqueline Harvey, who live in nearby Stainton, by Penrith, acquired the pub from its asking price of £475k.
The Black Swan Inn features seven en-suite letting bedrooms, a 36-cover restaurant and bar area, and a two-bedroom owners’ flat.
The sale was secured by Haydn Spedding, an associate director with the specialist hotels and licensed property team at Colliers’ Manchester office.
He commented: “Our sale of The Black Swan Inn provides further evidence of ongoing confidence among buyers in the Cumbria hospitality market, with recent research by Cumbria Tourism highlighting excellent levels of room occupancy throughout the county.”
