Limetree PR celebrates 10 years OLDHAM-BASED LIMETREE PUBLIC RELATIONS LTD (Limetree PR) celebrated ten years in business at an event held at George Street Chapel in Oldham this week.

Limetree PR took flight 10 years ago with its first major job managing an international launch event for Manchester Airport Fire Service and Simulation. The company got off to a blazing start as various fire training scenarios were incorporated into the event requiring meticulous planning and attracted huge media attention. Bridget Batty, Director of Limetree PR, said: “I am so grateful to everyone who has believed in me and put their trust in me. It’s quite a milestone for a local PR company and this event certainly helped me to tell my story and showcase some of the fantastic projects I’ve been involved in.

“The PR industry has changed so much since I started out so I’ve had to really keep up with the times. My work is much more digitally focussed now - ten years ago, social media was almost unheard of, organisations were just waking up to websites and now today we wouldn’t manage with either!”

Along with Robbie MacDonald, Business Editor at the Oldham Chronicle Bridget Batty, Director of Limetree PR, greeted guests who were then be taken on a tour of the stunning Grade II* listed former Independent Methodist Chapel. They experienced various settings, whilst looking for Limetree PR Treasure Hunt clues along the way and concluded with a short presentation from Bridget and a film illustrating her ten successful years in business.

Other projects have taken Limetree PR all over the country, working with celebrities, spending time on a film set on a caravan site in South Wales and making annual trips to Pinewood Studios.

On a less glamourous note, Limetree PR had to learn about waste recycling in Lancashire by organising an event for local dignitaries to tour a mile long site, sifting and sorting rubbish. One of their greatest achievements however, has to be launching a Jamaican Patois Bible at the Jamaican Embassy in London.

“Along the way,” Bridget adds, “I’ve written reams of copy for websites, articles and news releases galore, produced banner stands, leaflets and posters. I’ve worked as part of a team and autonomously for my clients. In fact, I’ve had so much variety it’s hard to say what I specialise in!

She reinforces, “I can safely say I specialise in supporting organisations to fine tune their key messages, get them out to the right places and allow them to be seen by their target audience. My motto has always been to show my clients ‘How to be better Seen and Heard’.

In addition to her Limetree PR work, Bridget Batty is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and sits on the organisation’s North West Committee where she also contributes to the annual PRide awards and the education subcommittee supporting young people interested in PR as a career.
