Manchester IT firm to provide track support for US F1 Grand Prix
IT firm BitSol Systems is revving up for a busy weekend after landing a contract to provide support for the United States Formula 1 Grand Prix this Sunday.
The Manchester-based firm has been tasked with ensuring a network of 48 track-management cameras work faultlessly over the course of the two-day event.
The devices, located at key points along the 3.4-mile Americas track in Austin, Texas, need to deliver clear images to Race Control and racing teams such as McLaren, Mercedes and Williams.
The HD cameras are used for spotting problems, monitoring performance and responding to crashes.
The managing director of BitSol, Greg Buchanan, said: “This will be the third year we have worked with the teams in Texas and we are proud to be doing so again.
“We are proud that a Manchester company is playing such a key role in providing support to such a high profile international event.”
BitSol, which is based in Urmston, was initially contracted to deliver a bespoke monitoring setup for the track.
Established in 2012 by former submariner Greg Buchanan, BitSol Systems provides IT support and security-cleared personnel for different sized companies across the UK.
