Special iApps are International Finalists in Appcircus Competition
North East based Social Enterprise reaches final stages of App Circus competition in Barcelona & Hamburg
Special iApps are proud to announce their success in two recent competitions. Having two of their apps nominated, Special iApps secured a place in the final in Barcelona with ‘Special Stories’, as well as a place in the final in Hamburg with ‘Special Words.’
The Barcelona leg of the competition takes place tonight, and the Hamburg final for Special Words takes place next week.
App Circus launches their competitions worldwide, looking to praise and raise awareness for influential and inspirational apps. Part of the Smart City Hack scheme, the competition has looked into connecting international apps which aim to improve the lives of under-privileged and disabled children. As Special iApps is now available in over 20 languages, our Spanish and Catalan versions made it to the finals in Barcelona along with 9 other app challengers.
Both Special Stories and Special Words were nominated for the early stages of the competition, and following a successful social media campaign, both apps were voted to be represented to a professional panel of international judges.
Special Stories is now in with a chance of being one of three winners, where prizes include 3,000 euros for ‘Best App’ as well as being able to attend the grand finale of the Smart City Hack as part of the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona later in the year.
The competition focused on the recognition of apps concerned about equal accessibility, and those that promote the inclusion of people with accessibility issues, as well as those with disabilities.
