Acquisition sees North East leisure group launch 25th venue
Tyne and Wear leisure operator Premier Leisure Limited has relaunched The Maltings pub, in South Shields, after it acquired the site backed by The Royal Bank of Scotland.
Renovating the former real ale pub, Premier Leisure has says it has upgraded the venue to attract appeal from the wider community.
The establishment now serves an array of craft beers, ales, wines, spirits and cocktails, supported by a series of entertainment offerings.
Glen Winlow, Manager of The Maltings, said: “We are thrilled with how popular the pub has become since re-opening.
“We want to attract a diverse range of customers and create a real community focussed venue and I this is definitely something we have achieved.
“Our entertainment evenings are proving to be very popular and the feedback we have received has been great.”
Tony Singh, Director of Premier Leisure Limited, said: “I am pleased that we have been successful with the acquisition and re-launch of The Maltings.
“The pub is located at the heart of the local community in South Shields and we want to create a venue for all local residents to enjoy.
“I’d like to thank our Relationship Manager’s Fiona Kerr and Lesley Cross at Royal Bank of Scotland for their support which has enabled us to continue to grow the company and add another venue to our portfolio.”
Royal Bank of Scotland supported the new venture with an undisclosed funding deal.
