Boxed Up Prepare For Black Friday

Wigan-based packaging firm Boxed Up are staying one step ahead of the game this year, as they put some savvy marketing plans in place ahead of the Christmas shopping storm.

Stealing a march on their competitors, Boxed Up are launching their Pre Black Friday Black Friday campaign, which encourages online retailers to stock up on their packaging products prior to this year’s Black Friday shopping bonanza, which takes place on the 25th of November.

Kate Hulley, Managing Director at Boxed Up said “We recognised the change in emphasis to online promotions last year, so we really wanted to make sure the hundreds of online business we serve are fully stocked up for what’s set to be the biggest online shopping weekend in history”.

Analysts have already predicted that Black Friday 2016 will result in the first ever £5 billion shopping week in the UK, with around £1.1 billion of Black Friday’s sales coming from online shopping transactions alone.

As suppliers to the online industry, Boxed Up play a key role in ensuring customers parcels are despatched promptly, by stocking a range of postal boxes that comply with Royal Mail’s shipping guidelines.

Included amongst the range are boxes that hit the C5 (Letter) and C4 (Large Letter) regulations - which means customers won’t be troubled by the inconvenience of heading to their local sorting office, or be in a panic about precious parcels being left in insecure locations.

With Black Friday just over a month away, it’s crucial that online retailers stock up on their shipping materials ahead of the Cyber Weekend rush, and with generous discounts for bulk purchases, and boxes delivered flat-packed to save on storage space, Boxed Up are making it as simple as possible for businesses to plan ahead.

Kate added “With so much going on in the world of business, the weeks can often pass you by, so we were keen to provide a metaphorical ‘alarm clock’ for our customers, to ensure our products reach them before the shipping process goes into overdrive.”

Taking place immediately following Thanksgiving, Black Friday has been a big story in America for decades, but has been fully embraced here in Britain since Walmart-owned Asda picked up the baton back in 2013.

Traditionally, it’s been a ‘door-busting event’, but after many other retailers latched-on late to the trend, Asda, along with the likes of John Lewis and high street giants Next actually decided to take backstep, and decided not to take part in bricks-and-mortar events last year.

This led to a more online-based focus based over a more sustained period, with the likes of Amazon offering discounts during the week-long build-up to Black Friday, and continuing right across the weekend into Cyber Monday.

For online businesses, large and small, this has created a new and important trading period, and whilst consumers will undoubtedly demand a bargain, they will also expect their orders to arrive safely, securely and undamaged as they drop through the letterbox.

Boxed Up’s postal products are manufactured here in the UK at their Wigan-based facility, and are constructed from corrugated E-flute board for maximum protection. The C4 boxes are ideal for shipping DVDs, video games and small craft items, whilst the C5 is the perfect size for CDs.

And with a whole host of other box dimensions for larger items, and pack sizes to suit all types of business, Boxed up have got their customers mail requirements nailed.
