Jet2.com's new partnership with software developer Godel takes off
Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, the leisure airline and package holiday specialist based at Leeds Bradford Airport, has formed a new partnership with software developer Godel.
Manchester-based Godel has been appointed to support Jet2’s growth and development by increasing and improving its software delivery capacity.
In recent months the airline, which provides flights to European leisure destinations through Jet2.com and ATOL licenced package holidays through Jet2holidays, has announced plans to create 1,000 new jobsin the UK and has also taken delivery of the first of 30 brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
By working with Godel, Jet2 will be able to develop software to support this ongoing growth, improving the search and booking experience for customers, and enhancing the airline’s business intelligence around analytics and reporting.
Godel is working with the in-house team at Jet2, based in Leeds, to develop software that supports the airline in making the search and booking experience as effortless and efficient as possible, across all platforms including a PC, tablet or mobile phone.
Godel will also integrate the airline’s business intelligence with travel, finance, risk and safety compliance applications.
The combined in-house and Godel team will work on a business travel application, a travel finance app that tracks payments made against suppliers’ travel bookings, and a risk and safety compliance application.
Godel has already delivered an allocations system that automates the billing for customers who bulk purchase seats. The software development team has dealt with the complicated rules centred around billing and management of these bookings, and has integrated it with other internal booking and account systems.
Andrew Aucott, general manager, business intelligence at Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said: “We are one of the fastest growing airlines in the UK, so the volume of changes to our software is increasing all the time and the demands are becoming greater.
“As we grow we require more software development, and Godel’s expertise supports our in-house development team to ensure that we provide the very best software to customers and our own teams alike.”
