ACS unveils plans for speculative industrial units at the Aire Valley Enterprise Zone
ACS Stainless Steel Fixings (ACS), the Leeds-based building structural components manufacturer, is set to build several small and medium-sized industrial units at Thornes Farm Industrial Estate, part of the Aire Valley Enterprise Zone.
The £17m turnover company purchased 6-acres of land in the Enterprise Zone 12 months ago and is planning to build a new head office and production facility, totalling 50,000 sq ft.
ACS is also planning to speculatively develop the remaining 45,650 sq ft.
The company has applied for planning permission for a number of trade counters and industrial units ranging from 2,650 to 8,650 sq ft.
Property agents Carter Towler will be marketing the new Gateway Trade Park development.
David Flannery, ACS’s managing director, said: “Our new head office and manufacturing facilities, which will be completed in 2017, will enable us to continue our ambitious expansion plans for the business, whilst investing further in capital equipment to meet continually increasing demand for our products.
“This is undoubtedly good news for the Leeds economy as we will create more jobs for local people.
“The location is ideal for our expansion; we could see the potential for other businesses too and so we decided to invest in constructing some additional units. The opportunity seemed too good to miss!”
Josh Holmes, Carter Towler’s associate director, added: “ACS is a progressive company and it’s fantastic to see them doing so well.
“It might seem to be a bold move to construct these additional premises but there are very few smaller, good quality, industrial premises available in the region. We know there is demand.
“The added financial benefits offered by the Enterprise Zone in the form of rates relief, will make the Gateway Trade Park even more appealing to businesses looking for a new location. We are looking forward to marketing the new units very much.”
