Icelolly.com reports boost in traffic

Customers booking their summer holidays for 2017 are focused on getting the best deal possible and are prepared to be flexible to make the biggest savings.

This follows findings from holiday price comparison website icelolly.com, which has reported an unprecedented increase in traffic for next year’s peak summer period.

The latest statistics show that searches for six and eight night stays have risen 20 per cent year on year, while searches for airports by region saw an 11 per cent boost on September 2015, with flights identified as the best place to save money.

All-inclusive holidays have shown a rise of eight per cent on last year as customers look to guarantee the costs of their holiday as the value of the pound continues to fluctuate.

Andrew Latham, chief executive of icelolly.com, said: “These findings highlight that customers are recognising that by booking earlier, they can access the best deals, guaranteeing costs and avoiding any potential inflation due to the devaluation of the pound. We are also delighted with today’s news that Monarch has been able to refinance as this offers more stability for customers who want to get the best deals on next year’s summer break.”

This follows a period of strong growth for the Leeds-based business, which recorded a revenue rise of more than 14 per cent over the first six months of the year. The company currently handles more than 130 million offers a day from some of the UK’s top travel companies, with more than 20 million visitors to its site every year.
