Sheffield company supplies panels for charity’s recidential building
Sheffield-based architectural panel manufacturer Panel Systems has supplied insulated panels to a new development of apartments based on Queens Road, for charity St Wilfrid’s.
The three storey development close to Sheffield city centre includes 20 self-contained flats, which are for the use of homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded adults. Panel Systems, which is based at Parkwood Industrial Estate, manufactured and supplied 60m2 of woodgrain Trespa panels which were fitted into the building’s aluminium glazing system that makes up the exterior of the building.
Panel Systems manufactured the panels with a rigid insulated core, providing a high level of insulation for residents. This will enhancing the building’s energy efficiency and meet the architect’s specification for thermal performance.
Danny Phelan, Sales Manager at Panel Systems, said: “It is always satisfying to manufacture panels for a new building in our local area and especially for one which serves such a vital purpose. Trespa panels are renowned for their aesthetics and durability, making them perfect for this development.”
Kevin Bradley, Director at St Wilfrid’s, said: “This project to build a residential unit in close proximity to a day centre has been our dream for many years. We are delighted to see the apartments completed and are really pleased with the standard of accommodation they offer. The Trespa panels in particular provide a welcoming, homely feel, which is important for residents living here.”
St Wilfrid’s is a Sheffield charity that supports homeless, vulnerable and socially excluded adults between 18 and 65 years.
