Veritas introduces FedRAMP SaaS for archiving and eDiscovery

Veritas Enterprise Vault & Discovery Accelerator dramatically reduce overhead costs for government agencies

Veritas Technologies, the leader in information management, today announced that Veritas Enterprise Vault and Veritas Discovery Accelerator are now available as a FedRAMP Authorized, SaaS level , Moderate impact cloud service. Through our partnership with bluesource, a Veritas platinum certified partner, and their partnership with ProjectHosts, U.S. government agencies in need of cloud-based Archiving and eDiscovery can now gain immediate access to these Veritas solutions in a FedRAMP Authorized cloud. With these solutions, government agencies can now minimize the cost of overhead for hardware and software ownership, and move to a fully managed government cloud archiving and eDiscovery service to successfully meet Capstone and immutability requirements.

“Veritas is committed to helping Federal agencies gain a stronger understanding of their data so they can make better decisions about it—and grant fast, safe services to citizens,” said Tom Kennedy, Vice President & GM, Public Sector, Veritas. “Veritas Enterprise Vault and Veritas Discovery Accelerator in a SaaS form factor allows government agencies to develop a holistic information governance strategy, while complying with the U.S. government’s FedRAMP security mandate for cloud-based services. Our software is hosted and delivered from a SaaS-level FedRAMP Moderate cloud environment built on Microsoft Azure. This solution helps Federal agencies quickly improve their information management needs, while saving them considerable time and money as a cloud service.”

The combination of Enterprise Vault and Discovery Accelerator offers customers a comprehensive solution for managing their information, from creation to discovery and ultimately to disposition if and when appropriate. Customizable policies help customers modernize beyond manual and time- consuming approaches for making decisions about their data. Automated information retention takes the guesswork out of determining what to keep and what to delete, which is increasingly critical as agencies look to meet looming deadlines imposed by mandates such as the Managing Government Records Directive.

“Having provided a fully managed service for Enterprise Vault for over 10 years—on-premises, in the cloud, and in hybrid environments—it’s very gratifying to now be able to extend the benefits of our EV247 solution to U.S. government agencies who have been keen to move more of their archiving and eDiscovery assets to a secure cloud model,” said Matthew Edwards, Group CTO and president, bluesource North America. “By partnering with ProjectHosts, our EV247 solution is now available in a FedRAMP Authorized cloud and is made available as a FedRAMP SaaS-level, Moderate impact cloud service.”

“As a recognized leader in information management we are very excited work with bluesource and Veritas. We have incorporated their application software directly into our Azure FedRAMP cloud environment and performed the due diligence to ensure that all of the required security controls are in place to maintain SaaS-level FedRAMP compliance,” said Scott Chapman, CEO and co-founder of Project Hosts, Inc. “This enables Veritas to deliver and market their applications to government agencies as a FedRAMP SaaS-level compliant cloud service in an Azure subscription.”
