York’s Escrick Park fully occupied after welcoming trio of new businesses

Escrick Park Estate, between York and Selby, is now fully occupied.

The business park became full after three North Yorkshire companies recently relocated to the historic estate, which brings the total number of jobs created there to 130.

Escrick Park has been owned and managed by the Forbes Adam family for the past 350 years.

The new occupiers on the estate, which are Dream Time Baby, Joy’s Bella Bridesmaids and Silver and Stone, have moved into the refurbished, Riccall Grange.

Katie Gray of Dream Time Baby explained: “I was drawn to the energy and atmosphere of the Old Granary space at Riccall Grange on the estate. Set in beautiful, open and rural surroundings, I found it to be a perfect spot for my business.

“The upstairs space was an ideal size and shape to run classes and workshops and with its lovely beams and beautiful window with view, it had potential to be made into somewhere really special.

“I feel privileged to be a part of the Escrick Park Estate and I am enjoying the energy of the place, alongside the other thriving businesses that have their home here.”

Hannah Robinson of Joy’s Bella Bridesmaids, which has taken 1,000 sq ft of quality office space at Riccall Grange, commented: “I chose to open my new business here as it is ideally situated between York and Selby in a beautiful rural setting.

“Helen Pentith of Escrick Park Estate has been very supportive and guided me through the lettings process as this is my first business venture. The estate has provided all the information I required and have been extremely helpful with all the practical aspects of taking over the lease.”

Helen Drye of Silver and Stone added: “I set up Silver and Stone Jewellery Design in 2012, based from my home studio in Riccall. I make bespoke jewellery for men, women and bridal jewellery and I teach jewellery making.

“As the business developed I found that I was teaching a lot more jewellery making classes than I had anticipated, and my classses were becoming a bit squashed at home.

“I began looking at other options, but wanted something near home, and I wasn’t sure that I could afford the overhead that a studio would be. Luckily I met Helen at Escrick Park Estate and she suggested a small unit at Skipwith - The Garth. This made a wonderful expansion to my home studio, and it was affordable - I didn’t need to worry about having sleepless nights!

“I noticed another unit vacant on the Estate, and popped in to have a look. It was ideal, nearer home - I can actually walk there in half an hour, lovely setting once again, other female businesses on site, and plenty of room to grow. As I was now used to paying bills, this next move was easier and not a huge jump in expenditure.”

Charles Forbes Adam, the owner and developer of Escrick Park, which is just five minutes away from the A64, concluded: “We are delighted to welcome these three thriving companies to our business park, especially as that means we are now full.

““Their arrival is a ringing endorsement of the quality of our rural offices, which are attracting new occupiers in challenging, post-Brexit economic times.

“We are tremendously proud of creating a serious business park, with top-class facilities, within a rural idyll. We believe Escrick Park, which comprises a number of self-contained hi-spec office developments and 14 units for light industry, has an exceptional and inspiring working environment which is unrivalled in the south York and Selby areas.”
