High Street TV raises funds for local hospice

Harrogate-based High Street TV has raised £735 for Saint Michael’s Hospice after hosting its very own ‘The Great High Street TV Bake Off’ event last week.

The entire team worked hard to show off their culinary skills, as their bakes were judged by High Street TV Chief Executive Jim Coleman (AKA Paul Hollywood) and Chairman Andrew Malcher (AKA Mary Berry), with Great British Bake Off runner up and Good Housekeeping’s Food Blogger of the year, Holly Bell, at the event on Friday 14th October.

Competing across three categories; brownies, cupcakes, and showstoppers, the High Street TV team put their best bake forward with International Director Phil Woods and his unique and tasty ‘Chicken Dinner Cake’ winning the overall competition.

Holly Bell was impressed with the standard of cakes on show, saying: “The High Street TV team really took this challenge in their stride. I had so much fun judging the different categories and I’m really pleased to have been a part of a day that raised so much money for a great cause.”

As patrons for Saint Michael’s, High Street TV wanted to help support the hospice while raising awareness of the fantastic work they do for local people. Francesca Woodward, marketing director, commented: “The charity provides an essential support service for so many members of the local community and as one of its many patrons, we’re really pleased to have been able to make such a significant contribution.

Saint Michael’s Hospice helps people affected by terminal illness to live as full a life as possible by providing hospice care in the Harrogate district, as well as offering bereavement services to support friends and family.

The bake-off event took place at High Street TV’s UK headquarters at Central House, Beckwith Knowle, Harrogate.
