Charity gets festive early
The regional arm of national charity, the Lady Taverners, is getting ready for Christmas early with a celebration event that promises to be brim full of fashion, festivities, food, beauty and fizz.
On the evening of Friday, 18th November, the Northern Counties Club on Hood Street in Newcastle will host the Lady Taverners first ever Fashion & Beauty Christmas Fayre - and if it’s the success it promises to be, it will mark the start of a yearly celebration.
Leading law firm Mincoffs Solicitors is sponsoring the drinks reception through its ladies’ networking group, Fizz in the City.
More than 20 stall holders will be taking part including two Jesmond-based fashion retailers - Designer Boutique which will be staging two cat-walk shows during the evening and if you’re looking for a gift for the man in your life, menswear fashion retailer, Edo, will not disappoint.
Some of those also taking part are The Body Shop, boutique-style jewellery and accessories company, Stella and Dot, Arbonne beauty products, colour and make up analysis will be available from House of Colour while stylists from Hidden Heights will be performing hair and make-up demonstrations and their photographer will be on hand to capture the moment for all those who choose to have a mini makeover on the night.
Prosecco and canapés will be served on arrival, prepared by the Northern Counties Club and there will be a great tombola and raffle with some fantastic prizes donated by each of the stall holders. Chair of the Lady Taverners, Sophie Lacey, is confident that the central location and the event’s ‘drop in’ format from 6pm onwards will cater both for those who want to come and take part in some networking straight from work as well as others who want to have a fun night out with friends. She said:
“We are really pleased with the response we’ve had from retailers keen to take part and we’re already drawing up a waiting list for next year. It promises to be a great night out and with early bird tickets priced at £12.50 via Eventbrite or £15.00 on the door it is not too expensive before Christmas. All money raised will go to good local causes too, so it’s a not-to-be-missed event!”
The Lord’s and Lady Taverners, which is the UK’s leading youth cricket and disability sports charity, is dedicated to giving disadvantaged and disabled young people a sporting chance.
