Conroy Brook nominated for Northern Design Awards

AWARD-winning property developer Conroy Brook has been shortlisted in the prestigious Northern Design Awards for its first Sheffield residential development.

The Northern Design Awards, which will be held at the Royal Armouries in Leeds on November 11, bring together designers, retailers and property developers in a celebration of Northern design and style.

Conroy Brook has been nominated in the New Build Home category for its Forge View project, a development of just five luxury four and five bedroom homes, built in a conservation area on a former Yorkshire Water site within the leafy Sheffield suburb of Carsick.

Designed by Sheffield-based architects Axis Architecture, alongside Conroy Brook’s building and design expertise, the homes were built in traditional natural stone and slate but also given a contemporary twist with Porcelanosa tiles, Siematic kitchens and Laufen bathrooms, all utilised to maximise flexibility and liveability.

Each of the five properties includes a unique ‘You Space’ - an area that can be adapted for use as a cinema room, gym or recording studio!

The project on land previously owned by Yorkshire Water was Conroy Brook’s first joint venture with Keyland Developments Ltd, the property trading arm of Kelda Group and a sister company of Yorkshire Water.

Project engineers for the ambitious scheme were Arup, the independent firm of designers, planners, engineers, consultants and technical specialists.

Conroy Brook CEO, Richard Conroy, said: “We are delighted that our Forge View development has been shortlisted for this prestigious award, especially as this was an important project for us, taking a redundant brownfield site and developing it for residential use in this particularly desirable area of Sheffield.

“Proof of this comes with the fact that all houses were reserved for purchase well ahead of completion.

“Being able to regenerate a redundant former service reservoir in a fantastic location into five outstanding homes has been an achievement we are all proud of.”
