SCS shows continued growth by reaching 100 stores

ScS, the UK’s leading Sofa and Carpet Specialist, has announced it will be opening three new stores on Boxing Day, taking the furniture giant to a total of 100 retail units across the UK.

An investment in the region of £1m is being made at each of the three stores which are opening in Straiton (Edinburgh), Plymouth and Thanet (Kent), providing a significant boost to the local economies.

The new ScS in Plymouth will be the first in the South West of England, a region key to expansion and growth going forwards, and a demonstration of the furniture retailer’s plans to target all areas of the UK. The addition of the Thanet and Straiton stores goes on to reinforce and strengthen the company’s position in their retrospective regions.

All three sites have been strategically picked to ensure they are demographically suited to the ScS customer base.

More than 40 jobs have been created including sales managers, sales professionals, and branch admin and manager roles across all stores, with current vacancies still available.

David Knight, Chief Executive at ScS, said: “We are looking forward to bringing the ScS offering to even more people and finally reaching 100 stores after years of hard work and dedication.

“Our new openings and investments throughout the UK means more people can look forward to exploring the fantastic value and choice we have in-store including sofas, recliners, corner groups and more, as well as a great range of carpets, rugs and flooring.

“We are also thrilled to be able to generate a range of exciting and rewarding career opportunities, in a mixture of sales, management and administration support roles which we are currently recruiting for.”

The company is already planning exciting events to take place at the stores as well as a celebration of its 100th store launching. More details of which will be confirmed nearer the time.

Straiton (Edinburgh) is Unit 3b, Straiton Retail park, Edinburgh EH20 9PW

Plymouth is Unit A Coypool Retail Park, Coypool Road, Plymouth PL7 4TB.

Thanet is Unit E, Westwood Retail Park, Westwood Road, Thanet, Broadstairs, Kent, CT10 2RQ.
