New Porsche Centre set to bring 30 new jobs Teesside
Work has begun on a new Porsche Centre in Teesside, which is expected to create 30 new jobs.
Scheduled to open early next summer, the development is adding to the current 36-strong Porsche Centre network in the UK and Ireland.
Occupying a 2.6 acre site on Concorde Way near Stockton, Porsche Centre Stockton-on-Tees will complement the existing Porsche Centres in Leeds, Newcastle and Sheffield, managed by JCT600.
The redevelopment of the two existing buildings, which is expected to take eight months to complete, will create a 15 car showroom plus capacity for 40 pre-owned vehicles.
The 35,707sq ft new centre will offer the full range of Porsche services including new and pre-owned Porsche Approved car sales, servicing, parts, a service loan fleet and a full range of Porsche demonstrators.
John Tordoff, chief executive of JCT600, said: “We have enjoyed a long and productive relationship with Porsche and are proud to be working with the Stuttgart sports car manufacturer to develop a new presence for the prestigious marque in Teesside.
“For over two years, we have been searching for a site where we can showcase the stunning range of Porsche models and believe this prime location, just outside Stockton and close to the A66, will give customers throughout North Yorkshire and the North East easier access to sales and servicing of Porsche cars.
Tom Armstrong, Porsche brand director for JCT600, said: “Naturally, work will commence over the coming months on the recruitment of a high calibre, industry leading team that reflects the brand values of such a prestigious marque, and has a natural desire to deliver customer satisfaction of the highest standard.”
He added: “We will be holding a number of recruitment days in the area towards the end of 2016 and start of 2017.”
