US firm Storefront to ‘open doors for international brands’ with London launch
Short-term retail space provider Storefront has unveiled plans to bring its international pop-up store marketplace to London.
Dubbed ‘the Airbnb of pop-up space’, US-headquartered Storefront already operates in New York City, Los Angeles, Paris, Amsterdam and Hong Kong.
The company works by matching a network of over 80k brands with commercial spaces for the launch of short-term pop-up stores or showrooms, product launches, private sales and other events.
The spaces can be rented for a single day up to several months or a year.
Storefront’s co-founder and CEO, Mohamed Haouache, said he and his team are “extremely excited” to be expanding into the capital.
He said: “London is a fresh, trendsetting market with tremendous opportunities for brands to gain exposure.”
Storefront’s platform powers over 10k listings around the world representing almost 27 million sq ft of retail space.
To date, brands including tech giant Samsung, sportswear brand Adidas and cosmetics firm L’Oréal have opened temporary shops through Storefront.
Mohamed continued: “The ability to use a single service to find premium retail spaces for pop-up stores in cities around the world is something many brands have requested.
“The London expansion opens doors for international brands in one of the most fashionable cities, and will further democratize the concept of the pop-up store.”
