Hendy Ford signs up for Eastleigh 10K 2017
Hendy Ford has reinforced its community support by signing up as headline sponsor of the Eastleigh 10k road race in 2017 for the second year running.
Hendy Group chief executive Paul Hendy said he was thrilled to continue the group’s involvement with one of the largest road races in the country.
“The event starts and finishes within sight of our FordStore in Eastleigh and fits perfectly with our plans to play a key role in the community in which we work,’’ said Paul. “The event attracts around 2,800 runners and we thoroughly enjoyed working with the organising team and meeting many of the runners this year.”
The Hendy Ford Eastleigh 10k celebrates its 33rd anniversary in March 2017 with the event scheduled to take place on Sunday March 19.
Race organiser Steve Collins said it was great to welcome Hendy Ford back to the event for 2017. “The race has built up a good reputation for local runners and those who compete from further afield and we are delighted that Hendy Ford will once again be headline sponsor and that one of its cars will lead the runners again next March,’’ he said.
The event attracts runners from across the UK who all descend on Eastleigh to take advantage of the fast, flat course which is ideal for top athletes and fun runners alike.
In 2016 the event lived up to its reputation as being the ‘home of the PB’ as hundreds of runners recorded a PB time on this fast, flat course and the Women’s winning time set by Laura Whittle of 32.36 is the fastest women’s 10k in the country in 2016.
Entries are now open for the event, for more details visit www.runningmania.co.uk
