Tariq Drabu was speaking about an article published on 24 October 2016 on a top dental news website. The full article can be read here.
Tariq Drabu in Manchester said “US made homoeopathic baby teething treatments are being blamed for the death of ten children in America. British Health Officials have issued a warning after investigations in the United States also found that these homoeopathic teething tablets were the cause of four hundred seizures and other negative reactions in younger children.”
Tariq Drabu went on to say “The symptoms range from trouble breathing to muscle weakness and flushes to problems urinating and constipation. The FDA also linked these medicines to ten deaths. Parents are encouraged not to buy these products online. Eight products in the United States have been withdrawn.”
Tariq Drabu closed in saying “The products from the United States are not licensed here in the United Kingdom. The main problem is parents that are buying these products online and if anyone has purchased these products, they are advised to stop using them immediately. The teething tablet is designed to either dissolve under the baby’s tongue or it can be taken with a small amount of water. It usually has chamomile, which is ideal to reduce irritability. The problem is that many parents don’t realise is that these tablets could contain toxic ingredients and parents are encouraged to ensure that the products they choose have the manufacturers name clearly on the medicine. The homoeopathic products which have been licensed in the United Kingdom to help with teething have been checked and are not affected.”
