Another American tech firm is expanding its presence in London

Property developers Helical have agreed to let the remaining space at their converted carpet factory development in Shoreditch.

Digital video firm, NeuLion Limited, have taken the whole of the top floor and the remaining half of the third floor at C Space, Helical’s 62,000 sq ft office scheme at 37-45 City Road.

The deal sees the tech firm gobble up 15,387 sq ft of space on an 11 year lease with an option to extend for another five, in a deal which the property developer’s say is ‘in line’ with the current market.

Headquartered in New York, NeuLion provides digital video broadcasting, distribution and monetization of live and on-demand video content and has contracts in place with the NFL and NBA for their online video services.

Roy Reichbach, President and Chief Executive Officer of NeuLion, said that the move would help cement the firm’s presence in London from which it runs its European operations.

It means the firm now joins an illustrious list of US tech businesses, including Apple, Facebook and Google, in commiting themselves to the capital following Brexit.

Reichbach commented: “We are excited to move into this space and make it our new home in London. The office and location is the perfect fit for us as we continue to expand our business and operations in Europe, meeting the needs of our current clients and helping us to land new clients.”

Housed within a 1960s industrial building, the newly developed offices at C Space were designed by architects Buckley Gray Yeoman, with space reconfigured to maximise natural light throughout the scheme.

The new occupants will be joining Mullen Lowe Group UK’s raft of digital agencies, including DLKW Lowe, Lowe Open and Lowe Profero, who pre-let 75% of the building.

Matthew Bonning-Snook, Development Director of Helical believes the new letting is a testament to the work carried out by the developer to repurpose the building into a contemporary workspace.

He added: “Working with architects Buckley Gray Yeoman we set out to attract exciting and creative businesses which appreciate a building rich in its industrial heritage but transformed to provide a fresh, flexible work environment built around the needs of today’s businesses.

“Our success here at C Space and at The Bower helps to demonstrate that we are at the forefront of creating the places and spaces people enjoy working in.”

Helical was advised by Savills and Hall Kemp and NeuLion was advised by Knight Frank.
