Birthday Bonanza for The Broadway Bradford
The Broadway Shopping Centre celebrates the first anniversary of its grand opening with a range of exciting family activities and giveaways this weekend.
To mark the first anniversary of the opening of the £260m shopping centre, The Broadway has invited some very special characters to join the celebrations and will play host to a number of special events.
On Saturday 5th November Titan the Robot, the worldwide robot entertainment sensation will put on a series of shows for customers celebrating with The Broadway. Performing at 12pm, 2pm and 4pm, the performances will mark Titan’s hotly anticipated debut appearance in Bradford.
And beloved animated character Peppa Pig is bringing her younger brother George to Bradford on Sunday 6th November to meet all of their fans in The Broadway. Peppa and George will take part in a very special story-time performance in the centre, and free tickets for any of these interactive appearances, which are happening once an hour on the hour from 11am until 3pm, can be picked up at the Customer Service desk.
Throughout the weekend, shoppers will have the chance to have their faces painted and a balloon artist will be on hand to create balloon animals for revellers. There’s also the opportunity to win a number of amazing prizes, with anyone who spends more than £20 in The Broadway during the birthday weekend getting a chance to spin the prize wheel.
For general manager Ian Ward, this weekend is an important milestone for The Broadway, and one he’s incredibly keen to mark; “It’s only natural that we make a big deal of our first birthday, given the successes we’ve seen in the last year. After welcoming 250,000 shoppers in our first four days of trading, the centre has gone from strength to strength, and that’s really a testament to the hard work of everyone at the centre and the support of our customers.
“In the last seven months, we’ve seen footfall rise on average by 60,000 per week, far exceeding expectations. We’re also really proud to have brought a number of fresh brands to the city, with 69% of our retailers being ‘firsts’ for Bradford. At The Broadway, we’re so proud to be a part of the regeneration of this great city and it’s exciting to think of where we can go from here considering all we’ve achieved just one year in!”
