Andrew Pickering and Peter Gartland, who together run Newcastle-based marketing firm Andrew and Pete, will represent the region and the UK at one of the world’s largest social media conference next year.
Asked to present a session at Social Media Marketing World 2017, the duo will make up part of an event which is expected to host 4000 delegates at the San Diego Convention Centre on March 22-24 2017.
Run by ‘Social Media Examiner’, the conference will feature over 100 social media sessions presented over three days.
After attending twice in the past, the pair will be host a session about how to create Re-Tweetable content.
On what it means to be asked to partake in the event, Pete said: “We were over the moon when we were invited to speak.
“It’s such an important event in our industry and we’re really happy to be representing the UK, and the North East, at an event where the speakers are predominantly American.”
Formed in September 2011, Andrew and Pete help small businesses get more creative with their content marketing. Their primary service is the international membership programme called: atomic, but the duo also work 1-1 with companies.
Andrew added: “Helping businesses get more creative with their marketing has always been our passion, and we can’t wait to speak about it at our first international event.”
The pair will attend the event alongside a handful of other North East business owners.
Joanne Dolezal, a chartered marketer with the CIM, and lecturer in digital marketing, added: “Social Media Examiner are at the forefront of education and insight on how social media is changing and how it applies to businesses.
“To have a North East representation speaking at the conference really puts the region’s tech and digital sector on the map.”
