New Canary Island route launches at Humberside Airport
A new service to Tenerife from Humberside Airport has been introduced by Thomson and First Choice.
The Canary Island route will see a dedicated Thomson Airways aircraft jetting off every Monday this winter.
To welcome the service’s first passengers with a Spanish twist, Humberside Airport offered sangria at check-in and entertained holidaymakers with flamenco dancers.
Deborah Zost, the airport’s managing director, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to offer local holidaymakers a winter weekly service to Tenerife from Humberside Airport.
“By expanding its flying programme from Humberside, Thomson has clearly demonstrated its confidence in the airport, offering a greater choice of flights and holidays from our region.”
Thomson and First Choice’s director of aviation planning, Karen Switzer, said the increased capacity demonstrates the firm’s commitment to the airport and the surrounding area.
She commented: “Expanding access to our portfolio of destinations and hotels is a key part of our overall strategy and will enhance the holiday experience for our customers.”
Those flying to Tenerife with Thomson and First Choice will have access to some of the firm’s most popular flagship hotels, including the Sensatori Resort Tenerife on the island’s west coast.
