New Kaspa's Desserts venue leads transformation of Hull city centre
A pair of new dining outlets are set to rejuvenate Hull’s Paragon Square over the coming months, in a move that decision makers hope will attract even more big brands to the city centre.
Kaspa’s Desserts has just opened a new venue at the development, creating 30 jobs, while Domino’s Pizza is on track to open one of its first sit-down restaurants in the UK next month in the premises next door.
The London-headquartered dessert chain is currently on an expansion drive across Yorkshire, but its 88-cover Hull restaurant will be the region’s biggest so far, serving up hot and cold desserts.
It comes after significant investment from Paragon Square’s owners, Regent House Estates Ltd, who have set about transforming the building which Paul White, Agency Director at Garness Jones, believes has created a ‘completely new atmosphere’ in time for the City of Culture year.
Garness Jones were appointed to promote space at the building for two high-profile al fresco dining brands, with Kaspa and Domino’s both opting to take up space at the renovated building.
The refurbishment has been part of a wider effort, project managed by Ian Hodges & Co, to renovate and, where necessary, demolish and rebuild unsightly buildings in the Paragon Square area.
Kathryn Shillito, HullBID city centre manager, said: “Regent House Properties have demonstrated great determination and real vision in redeveloping these sites and bringing in exactly the right sort of businesses.
“The combination of gelato and pizza is a real crowd-puller, as is the fact that both businesses will be open during the day and well into the evening, seven days a week.”
