Polar Krush refreshes operations with new jobs and £1m investment
Northumberland-based Polar Krush, a producer of natural iced-drinks, is hoping to upscale its business through investing in new people and machinery.
Over the next 12 months the North East brand, which exports around the world, is creating 12 new jobs to complement a £1m equipment investment that will help the firm cater to increased demand and develop new recipes.
Moreover, the firm is installing an additional production line as it expands its capabilities on Wansbeck Business Park in Ashington.
Supported by a £180k Let’s Grow grant, part of the Government’s Regional Growth Fund, Polar Krush says it is firmly committed to put the business on the world map for natural iced-drinks.
Kieran O’Connor, Finance Director of Polar Krush, said: “We recognised that the market is changing and customers are preferring healthier options so to reflect this, we refreshed our range to include sugar free recipes using natural colours whilst retaining the fantastic natural flavours associated with our brand.
“The new product range and increased production capacity will form a springboard for UK and international sales.”
Over the next 12 months the famous and well-loved brand, which is exported around the world, will install an additional production line to keep up with their increasing demand.
Dave Ledger, Chairman of Arch, added: “I’m delighted that Arch is able to support businesses like Polar Krush to realise their potential and to thrive in Northumberland.
“Through their forward thinking and innovative perspective, Polar Krush has been able to fuel significant growth which will directly benefit the local economy.”
