Europa’s Glasgow Office Move Will help Accelerate Growth
Europa Road, a dedicated division of ambitious logistics operator, Europa Worldwide Group, is gearing up for growth in 2017 with its investment in a new office move to Maxim Office Park, Eurocentral in Glasgow – Scotland’s largest commercial estate.
Europa has had a presence in Scotland, and Glasgow in particular, for 27 years and has very a strong Scottish client base especially across the M8 corridor and Fife. The Europa Road team has relocated just over five miles south where it had been based for seven years. The new 1173 sq ft office provides a modern and environmentally efficient working environment, and enables the company to capitalise on commercial opportunities in the local marketplace and across Europe. The new office has space for more hires to add to its six-strong team, expected in 2017.
Europa’s footprint covers over 100 countries and the Glasgow office, which serves all of Scotland, has very strong trading routes into and out of Italy, Germany and France. Popular and frequent shipment deliveries include electronics goods, sports equipment, confectionary and books.
Stewart Lawson, Branch Manager at the Glasgow office of Europa said, “This is an exciting new chapter for our Glasgow team. We were not willing to compromise on the location or quality of office space and this is a great fit for our plans for business growth. The team has worked extremely hard to increase revenues which has resulted in us having a solid year so far, and we expect this to continue into 2017.
“The logistics sector is vital to the region’s economy and is an important component in the supply chain of many local businesses. These companies demand their goods move from A to B in the most cost effective, efficient way. That’s where we come in; we have worked hard to successfully cultivate logistics solutions for businesses offering road, air and sea services to best suit their needs.
“Although there are some challenges facing the economy, there are many resilient, successful, entrepreneurial organisations whose operations are expanding. We are optimistic we can capitalise on this optimism and continue to grow our business, and in turn, help us create more jobs.”
Dionne Redpath, Branch Network and Sales Director, Europa Road, said: “Our investment in the new office move is a statement of our intent to continue to grow our business in Scotland. The local market is very important strategically for Europa and presents some great commercial opportunities for us in what is an extremely competitive sector. We are confident that we can help support many successful regional businesses grow their own operations and together will boost the local economy and employment.”
Europa Worldwide Group has recently announced its annual results and expects turnover, for the first time in its 50-year history, to exceed the £100m mark in Q4 of 2016. I saw a 14 percent year-on-year increase in turnover in 2015 to £96.5 million and is forecasting turnover to reach £130 million in 2017.
Europa’s Road division is supported by a specialised network of partners to ensure local expertise for reliable and accurate distribution for Europa’s customers.
