BPE celebrates expansion with second UK office

One of the country’s leading chemical and biochemical engineering design firms opened the doors to a brand-new office in Cheshire last week, further cementing its growth in the market.

BPE, headquartered in Hampshire, celebrated the official launch of its North West office at Daresbury Innovation Centre with a networking event for manufacturers and partners.

Among those in attendance at the networking event were BioNow, Boultings Group, Elanco and KTN.

BPE’s opening of a second office in the North demonstrates its continued success and will give manufacturers in the North even faster access to its team of experts.

Managing director Mike Brown said: “Our track record in helping manufacturers make their processes safer and more efficient has seen our expertise called upon by an increasing number of clients across the UK. The north in particular, with its thriving manufacturing sector and specialisms in pharmaceutical and chemical production, is a hotbed for innovation and we’re delighted to be here on the ground.”

He added: “What’s special about the region is that it’s not just home to some of the most successful pharmaceutical and chemical manufacturers in the UK; it also has a very strong sense of community within the industry. Organisations such as Chemicals North West and BioNow are very active, bringing businesses together to share best practice and move the industry forward. As a member of both organisations we’re looking forward to getting even more involved with the opening of our Cheshire office.”

BPE has been helping manufacturers make their processes safer and more efficient since 1997. It offers a full range of process engineering services, including process modelling, process safety, project management and process development/scale-up support. Specialising in chemical and pharmaceutical sectors, BPE counts some of the UK’s biggest manufacturers among its clients, including GSK, Pfizer, Estee Lauder, BPL and AstraZeneca.

The new office, headed up by regional operations manager Jon McGeehan, brings BPE closer to some of its existing clients in the North, which include AstraZeneca, Kerry Foods and Sanofi.

Jon said: “Our clients tell us what they like about us is the way we work closely with them as trusted partners rather than just external suppliers. Being located nearby will allow us to do just that and build even better relationships with these champions of UK manufacturing.”
