Help to Make Self Assessment Less Taxing
Abrams Ashton is offering help and advice on self assessment tax returns at a free event in Chorley later this month, in partnership with Chorley Council.
The session, which takes place at Chorley Town Hall on Wednesday 23rd November from 5.30pm – 8pm, will be hosted by Jo Ecob, leading business advisor and partner at the accountancy practice located on St Thomas’s Road.
Jo will offer tips and advice on how to get your self assessment tax return right first time, including how to navigate HMRC’s website, personal information required, expenses that can be claimed and key dates, as well as the penalties if these aren’t met.
“The self-assessing season is almost upon us and with more than 11 million people across the country having to submit a tax return, it’s crucial that you get it right and in on time,” explains Jo.
“The number of tax returns filed late has steadily risen over recent years and penalties from HMRC gotten progressively harsher. That’s exactly why we’re urging people new to self employment to attend the event to get their finances in order and minimise the chance of any costly surprises.”
The event is part of the Council’s ‘Boost Your Business’ series and is only open to businesses located within the borough.
Reservations for the free event can be made through Chorley Council or via Eventbrite.
