North West building group CPUK chosen for £2m Aldi scheme
Construction Partnership UK (CPUK) has been chosen to create a new Aldi supermarket at Whitebirk retail park, near Blackburn, for investment firm Peel Holdings.
The £2m project will see the North West building group demolish an existing unit at the park and construct an 18,000 sq ft supermarket at the Peel Centre, Hyndburn.
CPUK will also create new car parking space and a loading bay.
Steve Burke, CPUK’s managing director, said: “We are really pleased to be working for Peel Holdings on another of its development projects in the North West.
“We continue to see good growth in the retail sector.”
He added: “The Whitebirk project is the latest in a series of out-of-town retail development refurbishments and expansion plans that we have been involved in.”
CPUK has previously worked with Peel on a number of projects, including the construction of retail units at MediaCityUK in Salford and 10,000 sq ft of new retail space at Whitebirk.
Headquartered in Skelmersdale, CPUK Group’s order book today stands at more than £60m.
