Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire strengthens management team
Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire has bolstered its Liverpool management team with two new appointments.
The company welcomes Alex Crane as operations manager, and Neil Bolton as engineering manager.
Alex Crane began his career with Stagecoach in 1998, starting as a trainee driver and progressed quickly, securing roles as a driving instructor and then inspector. After completing the Stagecoach staff development scheme, he secured his first managerial role and has subsequently held operations management roles in Aberdeen and Wigan. His new role is based in Stagecoach’s Gilmoss depot in Liverpool where he is responsible for over 400 drivers.
A skilled vehicle technician with over 20 years’ experience within the commercial vehicle and mechanical engineering sectors, Neil Bolton started his career as an apprentice vehicle fitter at Wirral Borough Council, before moving to Mersey tunnels where he maintained highway and emergency response fleets. Over the past five years Neil has worked for ESSAR UK on Stanlow Oil Refinery (formerly Shell UK) as part of the management team. Neil will be based at the Gillmoss bus depot’s garage and will lead a team of over 60 engineers to maintain 164 vehicles.
Rob Jones, operations director at Stagecoach Merseyside and South Lancashire, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming two seasoned and highly-skilled managers to our Liverpool depot. Alex and Neil have varied experience that has helped them to accumulate a wealth of hands-on expertise which is hard to match. I am confident that their knowledge and expertise will bolster our team and help us to continue to improve our service offering for our customers.
“In a competitive employment market, we’re pleased to be attracting and retaining people of this calibre and look forward to seeing them grow and develop within the business.”
