Octopus co-founder joins Crunch Accounting board
Co-founder of Octopus Investments, Guy Myles, today joins the board of the UK’s fastest growing online accountancy firm, Crunch Accounting.
Myles will take an active advisory role alongside other board members, including Crunch co-founders Darren Fell and Steve Crouch; Crunch chairman and former Skype CEO, Michael van Swaiij and director and operations director, Justine Cobb.
Prior to joining Crunch, Myles co-founded investment company Octopus Investments in 2000, which now employs 500 people and manages £6 billion on behalf of more than 50,000 investors globally.
Octopus has backed hundreds of household name brands, from snack box company Graze and travel club Secret Escapes to property search engine Zoopla. Octopus is also the UK’s largest investor in solar farms, contributing £1.8billion to renewable energy.
In 2015 Myles launched Flying Colours, an affordable online financial advisory service that combines personal one-to-one advice with technology.
Guy Myles commented: “I’m really looking forward to working with Crunch and am hugely excited about their potential for growth. I love that their brand is all about helping the small business community, and I’ve been really impressed by their workplace culture.”
Darren Fell, CEO of Crunch Accounting added: “At Crunch we are all about working with people and brands that do inspiring work, and Guy’s startup story certainly fits the bill. He has transformed a business from a startup based in his co-founder’s lounge room, into one of the UK’s most exciting and successful investment firms.
“Guy also founds businesses that are focused putting the customer first and creating amazing workplace cultures – all core components of the Crunch story. We are thrilled that he’s just as passionate about growing Crunch.”
