Teesside High School welcomes Chemoxy CEO
Teesside High School will welcome the Chief Executive of one of Europe’s largest independent contract manufacturers on Wednesday 23 November.
Mr Ian Stark, CEO at Chemoxy International Ltd. in Middlesbrough, will host the School’s next Business Forum – a monthly networking event which offers an opportunity for business people throughout the region to get together and discuss relevant issues, common to all enterprise.
Mr Stark will be hosting a talk around ‘Science and Society’; exploring Science’s contribution to the economy and looking at trends where scientific advances will impact our lives in the future. Ian will focus on some of the Chemistry being carried out in the North East, the benefits it brings to the region and employment opportunities in wider Science-based industries.
Chemoxy, which makes solvents for products ranging from petrochemicals to fragrances, secured a £10m growth capital investment from the Business Growth Fund in 2015.
Christopher Neave, Chair of Governors at Teesside High School, said: “We are delighted that the next Keynote Speaker of the Teesside High School Business Forum will be Ian Stark, Chief Executive of Chemoxy International Limited.
“In 2015, Ian led a management buyout of this highly successful, local business from its previous US owners. His experience and expertise will provide a unique insight into his chosen topic and I am sure it will be of interest to anyone from the business community with a science and technology focus as well, of course, to local GCSE and A Level students.
“All are welcome.”
