Diversity Consultancy Recognised as Government Disability Confident Leader

Diversity consultancy, The Clear Company, has achieved ‘Leader’ status within the Department for Work and Pensions’ new Disability Confident employer scheme. In doing so it became one of just 13 organisations to be recognised at this level by Penny Mordaunt, Minister of State for Disabled People, Health and Work.

The Clear Company works with employers to help them to become more inclusive to diverse talent. It has also proudly sponsored the recruitment Industry Disability Initiative (RIDI) Awards for three consecutive years. As a Disability Confident Leader it can now also validate Disability Confident ‘Employer’ organisations so that they can also become ‘Leaders’.

In order to be recognised as a Leader, The Clear Company demonstrated that it engages with other employers, encourages providers and suppliers to start the Disability Confident journey, provides mentoring and peer support for other employers, hosts Disability Confident events and meetings and speaks about Disability Confident at business events and in local and national media.

Commenting on the accolade, Sarah Sanders, Head of Client Services at The Clear Company, said:

“I am honoured that The Clear Company has been recognised by the Government as a Disability Confident Leader. Being Disability Confident enables businesses to draw from the widest possible pool of talent and to secure and retain people who are skilled, loyal and hard working. Other benefits reaped are the increase in customer and market reach, whilst enhancing your brand reputation with customers, suppliers, other employers and your local community.

“I am immensely proud of the work we do with clients to open their eyes to the benefits of engaging with disabled jobseekers and employees. However, disabled people continue to be significantly underrepresented across the UK’s workforce. As a Disability Confident Leader we are part of a chain of change which is improving the prospects of disabled jobseekers by increasing confidence and collaboration.”
