Salford council approves £150m four-tower development

A multi-million pound four-tower scheme in Salford has been given the greenlight.

Approved today (November 17) by Salford City Council, the £150m project will deliver 488 one- to three-bed apartments and 37 three-bed townhouses.

The development, to be known as City View, will also comprise 150 car parking spaces, 200 secure bicycle spaces and a residential lounge, sky garden, coffee shop, gym and concierge.

The tower complex will be built on a 597,402 sq ft site located on the junction of Oldfield Road and Regent Road.

Manchester-based architects Fletcher-Rae designed the scheme.

Andrew Rae, the firm’s co-founder, said: “Ensuring the complex was both viable and thoughtfully integrated into its urban surroundings were big considerations in the planning application stage.

“Our aim is to establish a sustainable community development that responds to the scale of wider developments and city strategies, as well as reintroduces community base back to the north side of Regent Road.”

He continued: “We made an effort to maximising the front of the building and define the edge of the urban block to exemplify the corner node to the existing Regent Road / Oldfield Road junction.

“Furthermore, we strived to create quality civic spaces around the development with a façade that responds to the landscape and the building’s envelope that been inspired by cornerstones of the community, such as Salford Lads club and exiting terraces in the Salford area.”

Warrington-based Vivere Group is the developer behind City View.
