Christmas coding and festive fun at Campus North
A creative Christmas workshop for 4-14 year olds is being held at Campus North to help raise money for a local charity.
Maker elves are invited to come along to Santa’s Tech for Good Christmas party where there’ll be stalls galore of things to do including robotics, electronics, coding and virtual reality. Santa will also be there in his geeky grotto and there’s a festive film room for youngsters wanting to take a break from the hands on action.
The festive fun takes place at Campus North, Carliol Square on Saturday 10th 10am-2pm. Tickets are just £5 per family and all money raised from these will go to the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas Appeal.
Local businesses can also still get involved and help spread the spirit of Christmas by supporting the Tech for Good Makers’ Party. Sponsors so far include Hedgehog Lab, Sage, Digital City, Accenture, Mkodo, printed.com, Greggs and Mars.
Lyndsey Britton, Head of Campus North, said, “We’re looking forward to getting into the festive spirit with our Maker Elves, Christmassy coding and geeky grotto. Our Maker parties are always popular and as it’s the season of goodwill we’re delighted to be supporting Cash for Kids and helping give children and families in the north east a brighter Christmas.”
The event is part of Campus North’s Tech for Life initiative which offers events and opportunities to give more people of all ages and backgrounds the chance to gain digital skills.
